MEOW! Cat Sitting Co. opens franchise inquiries in 33 states, betting on felines

The pet-sitting industry has long been dominated by services built around dogs, with cats often treated as an afterthought. MEOW! A Cat Sitting Co. is flipping that script, and it’s now inviting entrepreneurs in 33 states to join what it says is the nation’s first and only cats-exclusive pet sitting franchise.

SAFETY HARBOR, Fla. — October 10, 2026 — MEOW! A Cat Sitting Co., a company that provides in-home pet sitting exclusively for cats, is now accepting franchise inquiries in 33 states. The company launched its franchise system in 2026 through MEOW! Franchising, LLC, and positions itself as the premier — and currently the only — cats-exclusive pet sitting franchise in the United States.

Founder Deanna Jones brings more than 25 years of pet care experience to the model. The business has operated as cats-only since 2019 and currently runs two company-owned locations: the flagship in Pinellas County, Florida, and a second location in Lake Monticello, Virginia.

“It began with a lifelong love of cats,” said Jones. “What I never expected was how far that love would take me.”

The market opportunity is substantial. Roughly 53 million U.S. households own a cat, according to the American Pet Products Association (2025). Grand View Research projects the U.S. pet-sitting market will grow 10.9% annually, reaching $1.4 billion by 2030. That research identifies cats as the fastest-growing pet type in pet sitting, yet cats currently account for just 6% of that revenue.

A 2024 Pet Sitters International survey found that 97% of professional pet sitters accept cats, but few build their entire business around them. MEOW! designed its training, marketing, and client experience with cats as the focus from the start.

Franchise owners receive a protected, exclusive territory and a home-based model that requires no storefront or lease. The program includes two full days of in-person training at the company’s Safety Harbor, Florida facility, a proprietary booking platform, and ongoing support from the MEOW! team.

The total estimated initial investment ranges from $39,000 to $59,760, which includes a $30,000 initial franchise fee. Actual costs vary by market. The first three franchisees to sign up will receive a $5,000 reduction in that initial fee.

No prior pet industry experience is required. The company says its ideal franchisee comes from hospitality, healthcare, teaching, or corporate careers, with a shared love of cats and high standards.

“Cats deserve care designed for them, not adapted from a service built for dogs,” said Jones. “We provide the training, the systems, and the support. Our owners bring the heart.”
