MCRI Group invites state, county and municipal roadway teams to discuss
potential applications, development priorities and field-testing opportunities.

The aim is to advance RMV in partnership with those who maintain roads, gaining insights into where robotics can offer the most benefit in terms of safety and operational efficiency.”— Scott Lang, President and CEO of MCRI GroupFREMONT, OH, UNITED STATES, August 13, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — MCRI Group has taken over RMV Technologies, Inc. (RMV), a firm focused on creating technology that automates roadway maintenance and preservation tasks, all while minimizing worker exposure to live traffic.

The RMV system integrates a six-axis industrial robot with vision systems, controls, and task-specific equipment mounted on a truck or other mobile platform. This setup is intended to automate road maintenance duties, lessening the need for personnel to operate in active traffic zones. The RMV platform and its modular roadway-maintenance applications are protected under U.S. Patents 11,795,637 and 12,618,206, titled Robotic Maintenance Vehicle and Modules.

Two applications still being refined are the Robotic Crack Sealer and the Robotic Cone Picker. The Robotic Crack Sealer uses a FANUC six-axis robot, vision technology, crack preparation tools, and sealant application to detect and fill pavement cracks, shifting the main operator from the roadside into the vehicle cab. The Robotic Cone Picker leverages the RMV platform to automatically place and retrieve traffic cones, cutting down on manual cone handling near moving vehicles.

“Road maintenance crews perform difficult work in constantly changing conditions,” said Scott Lang, President and CEO of MCRI Group. “The aim is to advance RMV in partnership with those who maintain roads, gaining insights into where robotics can offer the most benefit in terms of safety and operational efficiency.”

MCRI Group is seeking discussions with state departments of transportation, county engineers, municipal public works departments, airports, toll-road operators, and seasoned roadway contractors regarding crack sealing, traffic-cone management, worker-safety issues, and possible field demonstrations or pilot programs.

Through Motion Controls Robotics, MCRI Group contributes over three decades of robotic integration expertise, along with in-house mechanical, electrical, controls, programming, machine vision, and service capabilities to the ongoing advancement of RMV.

Road maintenance organizations curious about RMV applications, such as the Robotic Crack Sealer, Robotic Cone Picker, and future roadway-preservation uses, can reach out to MCRI Group (mcri-group.com) or check the RMV website (https://rmv.llc/).
