BiDS™ is a modular, adaptable system for generating complex active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) using abundant, low-cost, renewable sugars as starting materials. The LOI covers multiple steroid hormones, including progesterone, estradiol, estrone, and estriol. Estradiol is commonly used to treat menopause symptoms such as hot flashes and night sweats and to prevent bone loss (osteoporosis). Progesterone is often paired with estradiol in hormone therapy to address menopausal symptoms and provide endometrial protection during treatment.
