Wavelength Training, a recognized authority in communication instruction, has joined forces with communication expert Sandy Gerber to equip leaders with the skills needed to prioritize humanity in an era dominated by artificial intelligence.

TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA, October 7, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — A new collaboration between Wavelength Communication Skills Training and communication coach Sandy Gerber aims to provide leaders with strategies for navigating challenging discussions in the workplace. Their initial offering, Difficult Conversations at Work: The Talk You've Been Avoiding, is a 90-minute virtual session scheduled to debut in November 2026.

This alliance merges Wavelength’s five decades of expertise in helping professionals craft and deliver clear messages with Gerber’s actionable techniques for handling emotional responses, demonstrating empathetic listening and addressing employee worries during tough talks. The goal is to shift leaders from merely planning their words to adapting in real-time when an employee becomes anxious, objects or raises an unexpected issue. The curriculum integrates message preparation, empathetic listening and emotional regulation under pressure into one cohesive framework.

According to the Ipsos AI Monitor 2026, 67% of Canadian respondents expressed unease about products and services powered by artificial intelligence, tying with Australia for the highest rate among the 32 nations polled.

Meanwhile, a July 2025 survey from Abacus Data indicated that 36% of employed Canadians said their employer had encouraged, mandated or offered training for using AI tools in the workplace.

Gerber notes that this partnership tackles the discussions that arise after organizational change announcements, covering employee concerns about job security, shifting responsibilities and available resources.

“The conversation that matters isn’t the announcement. It’s what happens after: the one-on-one when an employee pushes back, goes quiet, or asks whether their job is safe,” says Gerber. “People don’t resist change because it’s difficult. They resist it because their emotions are not taken into account. If change doesn’t feel safe, meaningful, achievable, or something they can see themselves in, people won’t accept it.”

The webinar is designed to assist leaders in controlling their own reactions, hearing out employee concerns and delivering tough news with clarity.

Gerber views these abilities as a key differentiator: “The ones that pull ahead will be the ones whose leaders can have the human conversation, one person at a time, in the moment someone reacts.”

“Clear writing and presenting are still the foundation. That said, emotionally intelligent communication is now a must-have for any company that wants to engage its employees and win in its market. Leaders can’t guide people through change they can’t talk about,” says Jody Bruner, President of Wavelength Communication Skills Training.

Gerber and Bruner are open to interviews regarding communication in AI-related workplace transitions, responding to employee issues and managing difficult dialogues without triggering defensiveness.
