Over the past twelve months, TradeTech’s long-term uranium price indicator has climbed by 15%.

Unfolding market and policy developments continue to reinforce the view of sellers that demand is outstripping currently available supply in the near term and will continue to do so.”— Treva Klingbiel, TradeTech President

During the third quarter of 2026, the long-term uranium market saw consistent activity. Industry consultant TradeTech’s monthly Long-Term Uranium Price Indicator stayed at US$97.00 per pound of U3O8 for June, July, August, and September — a $13.00 rise from the September 30, 2025 benchmark.

Based on recent deals and current offers, the September 30 indicator marks the most elevated price seen in over 18 years.

TradeTech President Treva Klingbiel stated: “Presently, several utilities are actively seeking U3O8, with deliveries beginning as early as 2027 and extending into the late 2030s. Unfolding market and policy developments continue to reinforce the view of sellers that demand is outstripping currently available supply in the near term and will continue to do so.”

About TradeTech
For over half a century, TradeTech and its predecessor firms have served the uranium and nuclear fuel cycle sector, earning broad recognition for their trading proficiency and deep understanding of the technical, economic, and political dynamics shaping the industry. The company offers specialized market consulting, maintains connections with global nuclear fuel buyers and sellers, and keeps a comprehensive database on these markets.

The Long-Term Uranium Price Indicator from TradeTech represents the firm’s estimate of the base price at which long-term uranium delivery deals could be finalized on the final day of each month, assuming the delivery price escalates from an earlier base point.

Every Friday evening, the company releases its "Nuclear Market Review" (NMR), which includes the Weekly Uranium Spot Price Indicator, trading activity, industry news, and market data. On the last day of each month, the NMR monthly edition comes out, featuring TradeTech Market Values (Exchange Value, UF6 Value, Loan Rate, Conversion Value, SWU Value, and Transaction Value), along with Mid- and Long-Term Uranium Price Indicators, a Production Cost Indicator, and analysis covering price determinations, supply/demand, and industry and financial news. Additionally, TradeTech publishes "The Nuclear Review," a monthly trade magazine for the global uranium and nuclear energy sector, and a quarterly "Uranium Market Study."
