For Cobb County families tired of battling massive crowds just to catch a glimpse of holiday lights, a Smyrna-based wellness space is offering a different kind of Christmas outing this year. The Rest Spot, a community-focused venue known for helping people slow down, is transforming its one-acre property into an intimate, low-key holiday attraction designed around togetherness rather than spectacle.

The new attraction promises an affordable Christmas experience packed with festive activities, interactive elements, and the kind of holiday memories families tend to hold onto
Jena Burgess Singleton, founder of The Rest Spot, said the goal was never to compete with the region’s massive light displays. Instead, she wanted to build something smaller, warmer, and more personal. “We wanted to create something that families could enjoy together, an experience that feels restful and festive, without the hustle and bustle,” Singleton said. “We want only holiday magic!”

The Holiday Lights Experience runs from November 21, 2026, through January 4, 2027, at 1951 Old Concord Road in Smyrna. Each visit spans a two-hour journey through six distinct attractions, offering guests a chance to step away from the holiday rush and actually be present with the people around them.
Among the featured stops is the North Pole Post Office, where children can write letters to Santa and drop them into festive mailboxes. The Gingerbread Workshop offers a life-size cottage decked out in colorful decorations and lights, complete with hands-on activities. Visitors can also stroll through the Enchanted Tree Forest, a glowing path lined with holiday lights, or walk the Ornament Walk, a pathway meant to celebrate the wonder of the season. A Farewell Photo Moment gives families one last chance to capture a keepsake before heading home.
The attraction is also courting groups. Special rate pricing is available for schools, churches, daycare centers, and other large organizations, making it a viable option for field trips, congregational gatherings, and community celebrations. Private bookings on select dates can accommodate corporate events, employee appreciation nights, and family parties.
By capping tickets per time slot, The Rest Spot aims to keep crowds manageable, giving guests room to breathe and enjoy the experience without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. Organizers are encouraging families and groups to reserve their visits ahead of time, as availability is expected to be limited.

Why it matters: In an era where holiday entertainment often comes with heavy price tags and even heavier crowds, The Rest Spot’s approach offers a scaled-down, budget-conscious alternative that prioritizes quality time over spectacle. It also signals a growing niche for small, community-driven venues to carve out seasonal traditions that larger commercial attractions can’t replicate.
