After Being Named an Official Selection at the Boston Film Festival, the Documentary Heads to San Diego International Film Festival While the Team Kicks Off a Nationwide Publicity and Distribution Push

Each day, countless Americans hit “Buy Now” and an Amazon package shows up at their front door—often within just a few hours. Yet, the real cost of this convenience remains unseen.”— Frank LicariNEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, September 17, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The investigative documentary “Undeliverable: Prime Profits. Poor People.” has been named an Official Selection at the Boston and San Diego International Film Festivals.

The feature-length film takes a close look at Amazon’s Delivery Service Partner initiative and the independent contractors and companies that handle the crucial final leg of package delivery.

UNDELIVERABLE: PRIME PROFITS. POOR PEOPLE., directed by three-time Emmy-nominated filmmaker and TV host Frank Licari, has earned spots at both the 2026 Boston Film Festival and the San Diego International Film Festival.

The film zeroes in on Amazon’s last-mile logistics network, specifically examining the DSP program, which relies on independently run delivery businesses to transport packages from local stations to customers’ doorsteps.

Featuring personal stories from both past and present delivery drivers and DSP owners, the documentary also brings in insights from attorneys, journalists, scholars, authors, labor advocates, and industry insiders.

Through these conversations, UNDELIVERABLE unpacks how the DSP model functions, what it’s like for those on the ground, and the larger issues around small-business ownership, worker conditions, delivery logistics, and what shoppers expect.

“We all see the Amazon vans rolling through our streets, but few understand the business machinery behind those deliveries,” said Licari. “This film started with my own curiosity about how last-mile delivery actually works and a desire to hear directly from the people living it.”

EXPLORING THE LAST MILE

Amazon’s DSP program partners with independent delivery companies that handle the final stretch of the shipping process.

UNDELIVERABLE digs into this setup through interviews with those who’ve run DSPs and driven for them. They open up about the daily realities of delivery work, performance targets, financial pressures, and the often-complex ties between their companies and Amazon.

The documentary also weaves in commentary from experts and observers who shed light on the broader implications for delivery services, employment, entrepreneurship, and the booming e-commerce sector.

Licari noted that the project grew during filming to tackle bigger questions about how shifting shopping habits are reshaping the delivery industry.

“E-commerce has transformed how we shop and how goods travel,” Licari explained. “Our film focuses on one slice of that chain, giving those who’ve lived it a chance to tell their stories.”
