Firm appoints business development leader to speed up customer acquisition and bolster its competitive standing in the Austin region

Gridwater is entering the stage where every new capability has to connect to the next one: equipment to customers, operations to markets and execution to growth.”— James Woloszyn, Chief Operating Officer of GridwateSHERMAN, TX, UNITED STATES, August 7, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Gridwater, Inc. announced today that it is continuing to advance its 2026 operational plan. The company’s first brand-new mobile water treatment truck remains on course to begin service in the latter part of September, matching the timeline Gridwater had previously set, and the organization has brought on Roy Williamson as Vice President of Business Development to drive customer acquisition and market expansion as that new capacity becomes available.

Sticking to the September Deadline

This first new truck serves as a critical element in Gridwater’s shift from fundraising and business development to hands-on field operations. Production and commissioning efforts remain on schedule, following the earlier reported equipment-financing and production achievements.

Each truck operates as a mobile platform, delivering water and wastewater treatment capabilities wherever customers require them.

Bringing the first new unit into service provides Gridwater with added field capacity and creates the operational base for ongoing customer growth and fleet enlargement.

“Nobody has organized capital in this space in this way, so we’re building a category as we go,” said Ken Berenger, Executive Chairman of Gridwater. “You build a category the same way you build anything else. One piece at a time, on the date you said. We committed to September and the first new truck is on track for late September.”

Developing the Commercial Infrastructure Alongside the Equipment

Instead of postponing its commercial efforts until new capacity arrives, Gridwater is constructing its customer-development function together with the operational platform.

“Gridwater is entering the stage where every new capability has to connect to the next one: equipment to customers, operations to markets and execution to growth,” said James Woloszyn, Chief Operating Officer of Gridwater. “We were looking for more than a traditional sales executive. We needed a commercial operator with the industry knowledge, government-sales experience and market-building instincts to work alongside our operating team. Roy fits that job.”

Williamson brings expertise spanning environmental services, heavy-equipment fleet operations, manufacturing, logistics, government contracting, and national sales, including oversight of heavy-duty vacuum trucks and other specialized industrial equipment across industrial, government, and military markets.

He has held leadership roles in manufacturing operations and sales at Ambipar Group Holdings, as well as regional business development and government contracting at Vibrant Works—San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind. His track record also includes RFP and RFQ development, government-contract compliance, multi-state logistics, environmental-response operations, and the creation of new sales channels and go-to-market strategies.

His initial focus areas include building Gridwater’s commercial pipeline, securing new customer relationships, forming strategic alliances, and deepening the company’s presence in the Austin market.

“A category doesn’t get built by equipment alone,” Berenger added. “You put the right people next to it before you need them. That’s the sequence, and we’re keeping to it.”

A Consistent Pattern of Delivery

The September service target and Williamson’s appointment are pieces of a larger sequence. Gridwater has been putting together the financing, equipment, personnel, market connections, and operational systems needed to run a functioning water and wastewater services platform. Each completed step is designed to make the company more capable while preparing it to follow through on the next one.
