GO Laurel's Challenge Pass

The Laurel Highlands keeps broadening its mobile experience and its collaboration with Local Explorers after the Coffee Club Trail was introduced with great success!

The Coffee Club Trail proved how digital challenges can motivate tourists to uncover more of a location”— Susan Erickson, Vice President and Co-Founder of Local Explorers

After the Coffee Club Trail was successfully introduced earlier this year, GO Laurel Highlands has kept broadening its official mobile experience through its alliance with Local Explorers. The Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) unveiled the "Jaylen's 30 Trail" on July 28, just before the Pittsburgh Steelers 2026 Training Camp at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, with chances to meet Jaylen Warren.

Since its debut on July 28, the new Challenge Pass has already attracted considerable early interest, with roughly 75 passes sold during its first month. This gives visitors and Steelers fans an additional way to discover the Laurel Highlands, encouraging them to explore the area while earning rewards and sweepstakes entries and supporting businesses and attractions across the region.

As the officially designated tourism promotion agency for Pennsylvania's Laurel Highlands and an approved Preferred Vacation Destination of the Pittsburgh Steelers, GO Laurel Highlands created the trail to celebrate football season while motivating visitors to see more of the area's local businesses and attractions. The program builds on the momentum of the recently launched Coffee Club Trail, further showcasing GO Laurel Highlands' dedication to designing engaging visitor experiences through its mobile application.

The Steelers held their 2026 Training Camp from July 29 through August 17, drawing thousands of fans to the area. Released just one day before camp started, the Jaylen's 30 Trail gave those visitors a fresh way to prolong their time beyond the football field and uncover destinations all over the Laurel Highlands.

The Jaylen's 30 Trail includes 30 participating spots across the region, inviting users to visit locations, check in via the GO Laurel Highlands app, and finish the challenge. Visitors who complete all 30 check-ins earn the chance to be entered into exclusive sweepstakes, creating an exciting incentive to keep exploring the region through the entire football season.

"Our aim was to introduce the new Challenge Pass right before Training Camp began so we could present it to fans as they arrive in the Laurel Highlands and continue boosting engagement throughout the football season," said Emma Reaping, Marketing & Program Coordinator for GO Laurel Highlands. "Working with the Pittsburgh Steelers allows us to design an experience that encourages visitors to find local businesses while celebrating one of the region's biggest yearly events."

The Jaylen's 30 Trail uses the Local Explorers platform, which helps destination marketing organizations turn their conventional visitor guides into interactive mobile experiences that foster exploration, repeat visits, and measurable economic impact. Visitors can easily move between participating locations, monitor their progress, and earn sweepstakes entries—all from inside the GO Laurel Highlands app.

"We're thrilled to keep expanding our partnership with GO Laurel Highlands," said Susan Erickson, Vice President and Co-Founder of Local Explorers. "The Coffee Club Trail showed how digital challenges can inspire tourists to discover more of a destination, and the early response to the Jaylen's 30 Trail is another excellent illustration of how communities can take advantage of major events to create memorable experiences that benefit local businesses." With roughly 75 passes already sold, the Jaylen's 30 Trail is still engaging visitors beyond Training Camp and throughout the football season, extending the impact of the Steelers partnership while encouraging ongoing exploration of the Laurel Highlands.

Local Explorers develops custom-branded mobile solutions that assist communities in linking visitors with local businesses, attractions, events, and experiences through digital passports, challenge trails, rewards, and interactive engagement tools. The platform continues to power innovative visitor experiences for destination marketing organizations across North America.
