Confronted with a mandatory minimum prison term of 25 years, Behr opted to serve as a cooperating source for the DEA. He later chronicled that chapter of his life in the memoir One Step Over The Line, a title inspired by the 1970s song "One Toke Over the Line." The book represents Behr's initial foray into writing and addresses both his personal narrative and the smuggling scene in South Florida during that period.
