Brazilian studios, service providers and accelerator-backed companies will present new games, business opportunities in Cologne.
Brazil Games, the export initiative for games run by Abragames (the Brazilian Association of Game Developers) together with ApexBrasil (the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), has confirmed its involvement in gamescom 2026. The event is set for August 19-23 in Cologne, Germany.
Brazil Games is heading back to the planet’s biggest video game gathering with a contingent made up of Brazilian developers, service firms, independent studios, and sector representatives. This group will occupy space in both the business and consumer zones of gamescom, underscoring Brazil’s role as a nation that crafts original games, offers specialized production capabilities, and nurtures lasting ties with the global marketplace.
This effort is part of the continuous work spearheaded by Abragames and ApexBrasil to aid Brazilian game companies in going global. At gamescom, Brazil Games will link studios with publishers, investors, platforms, media, and prospective commercial partners, while also letting players explore projects originating from Brazil.
Brazil’s showing at the event mirrors an industry that has grown more sophisticated in recent years. The delegation comprises firms engaged in original intellectual properties, co-development, art, animation, outsourcing, and other niche services. Together, they paint a fuller portrait of the Brazilian games sector: inventive, commercially driven, and ever more ready to function in international arenas.
"Brazil keeps solidifying its status as an increasingly valuable ally for the global games industry," remarked Patricia Sato, Executive Manager at Brazil Games. “Our collaboration with ApexBrasil and Abragames is centered on generating tangible opportunities for Brazilian enterprises, spanning business discussions to exposure for fresh projects. Brazil possesses talent, technical know-how, and a distinct creative voice, and we want the global market to witness that firsthand.”
Brazil Takes the Spotlight at gamescom’s Indie Area
For the very first time, Brazil Games will run a dedicated pavilion within gamescom’s Indie Area, establishing a fresh platform for emerging Brazilian studios and original intellectual properties. This pavilion will unite initiatives and backing from the Brazil Games Accelerator, Embratur, and Sebrae-SP, collectively showcasing dozens of Brazilian-made titles to worldwide audiences over the course of the event.
Serving as the main exhibitor in this pavilion, the Brazil Games Accelerator will feature a handpicked assortment of games from its most recent cohort, emphasizing the program’s efforts to bolster promising Brazilian studios with international growth prospects.
This Indie Area presence marks a significant milestone for Brazil’s independent development scene. It provides global audiences with direct access to games shaped by Brazilian creators, featuring projects that mirror diverse regions, influences, narratives, and aesthetics from across the country.
A Consolidated B2B Presence at gamescom
Alongside its consumer-facing activities, Brazil Games will keep a robust footprint in the B2B section, arranging meetings between Brazilian firms and international publishers, investors, service providers, and industry figures.
Participating companies will showcase both original game concepts and specialized development services, reaffirming Brazil’s standing as a dependable partner for co-development, outsourcing, and creative teamwork.
For gamescom 2026, Brazil Games has also broadened its business support resources and industry catalogs, rolling out dedicated publications focused on games and service providers. The aim is to simplify how international partners grasp what Brazilian companies offer, pinpoint potential collaborators, and launch conversations during the event.
This commercial emphasis is central to the Brazil Games Export Program. The program’s work at international gatherings goes beyond mere promotion. It is crafted to assist Brazilian companies in reaching markets, cultivating relationships, and converting visibility into concrete opportunities.
Brazil’s Expanding Games Ecosystem
Brazil Games’ involvement in gamescom 2026 arrives at a moment when the Brazilian game development sector continues to draw international notice, buoyed by initiatives that encourage innovation, entrepreneurship, and export preparedness.
The delegation will highlight upcoming projects slated for release over the coming two years, including titles from the Brazil Games Accelerator and other development programs tied to the nation’s industry growth.
By assembling both established firms and up-and-coming studios, Brazil Games seeks to reinforce Brazil’s standing as a relevant force in the international games market. This initiative also underscores the function of Abragames and ApexBrasil in forging links between Brazilian companies and global partners.
Brazil’s footprint at gamescom also serves as a reminder of what distinguishes the country’s game industry: a blend of technical expertise, creative drive, cultural diversity, and an ability to collaborate with partners from varied markets. From business negotiations to the Indie Area, Brazil Games will present a nation that is prepared not just to display its games, but to engage in commerce with the world.
Further details about participating companies, featured games, and meeting opportunities at gamescom 2026 will be disclosed in the coming weeks.
