A former senior manager at HSBC Saudi Arabia contributes over three decades of Gulf banking and investment experience to the board of the Dublin-based placement agent.

Alawami brings extensive experience and deep investor relationships across the Gulf, especially in Saudi Arabia, to the Artane Partners network.
Alawami spent over 24 years at HSBC in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province, most recently serving as Senior Manager, Business Development within the bank’s Global Banking and Markets division, where he worked with corporate and institutional clients throughout the Kingdom. Since 2021, he has been an Investment Manager at SHUAA Capital in London and an Investment Advisor to Ellington Capital Management in Dubai. He has also, since 2016, advised real estate developers and private investors in the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia on financial and property investments. He is based in Dubai.

In his role as Chairman, Alawami will oversee the firm’s board, governance, and strategy across the Gulf, and will support the senior team on its most important institutional relationships in the region, with a specific focus on Saudi Arabia. He initially joined Artane Partners as a member of its advisory board before taking on the Chairman position, and works alongside Ali Al-Khaldi, the Riyadh-based member of the firm’s Board of Advisors.
