Two North Carolina nonprofits will receive $10,000 grants and pro bono consulting to advance economic mobility through technology.

At Apparo, we believe strong missions need strong systems behind them.”— Lavonne McLean, CEO at ApparoCHARLOTTE, NC, UNITED STATES, August 24, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Apparo has named the 2026 winners of its Mission Possible Award Program, a nonprofit technology and process improvement grant initiative run alongside Accenture that helps organizations use innovative tech solutions to boost economic mobility across North Carolina.

Chosen from groups taking part in this year’s Mission Possible cohort, one nonprofit based in Charlotte and another from the Triangle region will each be awarded a $10,000 grant plus up to $50,000 in additional pro bono consulting to deploy technology-driven solutions that enhance mission impact and create more opportunities for the communities they serve.

Mission Possible was launched by Apparo in response to economic mobility challenges highlighted in research by economist Raj Chetty. The program helps nonprofits examine how technology can break down barriers to opportunity, improve service delivery, and boost long-term community outcomes. Since its expansion to the Triangle region in 2023, this initiative has involved nonprofits from both areas in developing innovative approaches that improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency while furthering economic mobility.

"At Apparo, we believe strong missions need strong systems behind them," said Lavonne McLean, CEO of Apparo. "This year’s winners identified thoughtful ways to use technology to deepen their impact and better serve their communities. Partnerships like Mission Possible, and the commitment of partners like Accenture support our work to help nonprofits build the capacity, resiliency, and sustainability needed to grow their impact for years to come."

Through Mission Possible, participating nonprofits collaborate with skilled Accenture volunteers who lead them through an intensive ideation and proposal development process. In addition to the award recipients, every participating organization receives strategic support and a finalized technology proposal that can be used to pursue future funding.

Charlotte Award Winner: Champion House of Care

Champion House of Care was chosen for its plan to deploy a first-ever centralized pantry operations and household engagement system, replacing paper forms, disconnected spreadsheets, and manual reporting processes. The technology will consolidate household intake, service tracking, inventory management, and reporting into a single platform, enabling Champion House of Care to better grasp household needs, match food resources with real-time community demand, reduce service gaps, and streamline day-to-day operations. With improved visibility into pantry usage and distribution patterns, the organization will be better equipped to strengthen grant reporting, forge community partnerships, and link families with additional support services that foster stability and self-sufficiency.

Triangle Area Award Winner: Gabi’s Workforce

Gabi’s Workforce received the Triangle Area Mission Possible Award for its Gabi’s Connect initiative, which will extend Zoho One into an integrated Relationship and Workforce Growth System. The platform will connect employer engagement, workforce coordination, donor and volunteer management, communications, scheduling, surveys, and reporting into one unified system. The project will help Gabi’s Workforce scale its mission of generating meaningful employment opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by bolstering employer partnerships, improving workforce coordination, and enhancing data visibility. The solution will also cut down on administrative burdens for staff, freeing up more time and resources to focus on workforce development, job retention, and long-term economic opportunity for program participants.

“At Accenture, we believe technology can be a powerful force for social impact,” said Wes Slocum, Managing Director with Accenture and Mission Possible program lead, Charlotte. “Through Mission Possible, we are proud to work alongside Apparo and nonprofit leaders to develop innovative solutions that help communities thrive. This partnership represents the kind of forward-thinking ideas that can create lasting change by expanding access to essential resources and creating pathways to meaningful community resilience.”

Since its launch in 2017, Mission Possible has enabled nonprofits to develop strategic technology solutions that boost efficiency, increase organizational capacity, and strengthen community impact. The program reflects Apparo’s commitment to empowering nonprofits through technology, business process improvements, and skilled volunteer partnerships that help organizations serve more people, more effectively.
