The Great Lakes region has spoken, and its coolest attractions aren’t just tourist stops — they’re economic engines. From a 20-story crane serving the U.S. Navy to a birding festival that pumps $40 million into Ohio’s economy, the winners of this year’s Coolest of the Great Lakes Pitch Contest showcase the industrial might and natural beauty that define the binational region.

The National Museum of the Great Lakes in Toledo, Ohio, claimed the Coolest Destination title, recognized for its ability to connect with every community around the Great Lakes while serving as the historical, cultural and civic archive of the region’s people.
